MS-13 members confess to burying over 200 victims at Bukele-linked estate

In the ongoing mass trial of 486 suspected MS-13 leaders, three gang members from the Teclas Locos Salvatruchos clique disclosed that they murdered and concealed more than 200 victims at Finca Suiza, a forested parcel in Nuevo Cuscatlán, from 2013 through 2021. The location holds symbolic significance as the place where Nayib Bukele launched his political trajectory in 2012 and later promoted a low homicide narrative. Prosecutors say investigators have recovered 21 bodies and numerous skeletal fragments from the property, which is currently being built into the Portales del Bosque luxury residential project.

The defendants, identified by the code names Bosnia, Berlin and Sweden, described a gang practice they called “H1,” referring to a fertilizer-type method of hiding corpses. While the mass trial has been open to media and influencers, other proceedings involving alleged gang collaborators are being held behind closed doors. The government has classified information on missing persons and clandestine graves as a state secret since Bukele assumed the presidency in 2019.
