MS NOW to debut a $7.99 monthly Membership subscription in September
MS NOW announced a new Membership plan launching in September, priced at $7.99 per month or $79.99 annually, to give subscribers extra content and interaction with its staff.
MS NOW revealed plans for a stand-alone Membership subscription slated for a September rollout, costing $7.99 each month or $79.99 for a year. The offering is intended to augment the channel’s current cable and online presence with exclusive content, new thematic sections, and round-the-clock streaming of its programming. Rebecca Kutler, the network’s president, said the initiative responds to viewer surveys that highlighted gaps in the news experience and marks the start of a longer-term engagement plan.
Subscribers will be able to interact more directly with the outlet’s anchors, reporters, and contributors. At $7.99, the service sits between one outlet’s $6.99 All Access and one outlet Media’s $8.99 Fox Nation packages. MS NOW becomes the last of the three major U.S. cable-news brands to launch an independent paid subscription.
Why it matters
The launch shows how traditional news channels are seeking new subscription revenue to stay competitive in a streaming-focused market.
