MTV announces CEO Johannes Leppänen's departure and appoints interim chief

MTV disclosed that its chief executive, Johannes Leppänen, will resign after serving for seven years, staying on until the end of September to ensure a smooth handover. The board appointed Mathias Berg—currently chairman of MTV's board, CEO of TV4, and head of Schibsted TV & Media—as interim chief executive beginning in early October. In a statement, MTV noted that Leppänen and Berg had discussed the timing of the transition and agreed it was an appropriate moment to continue the channel's growth under new leadership.

The company emphasized that its business remains robust and that the search for a permanent CEO has already started. Berg thanked Leppänen for his leadership and commitment, while Leppänen described his tenure as a privilege and expressed confidence in the channel's future.
