Multiple incidents across Norway, Ukraine and the US highlight safety and security concerns

Authorities reported smoke at Hotel Richard With in Stokmarknes, Vesterålen, caused by a powerbank catching fire during charging; the incident prompted evacuation of a hotel floor and two individuals were taken to hospital for examination. In Porsgrunn, a suspect seized a costly transport bicycle after a confrontation with the owner, fleeing the scene while police noted no firearms were involved. Police in Drammen arrested four teenage boys who had thrown stones at a house and seized two electric scooters used in the incident.
Separately, a Russian missile and drone strike on the Kyiv region killed at least one person, wounded three, and damaged private residences, warehouses and vehicles, with reports of fires and power outages in the capital. Additionally, a German defense firm demonstrated an AI-controlled combat drone that outperformed human pilots in a simulated air combat exercise.
