Multiple shootings injure several people in Sacramento area early Sunday
Police responded to gunfire that wounded three women in Granite Regional Park and a man near Folsom Boulevard early Sunday.
In the early hours of Sunday, Sacramento Police located three women suffering gunshot injuries near Cucamonga Avenue and Ramona Avenue within Granite Regional Park. Two of the women were transported to a hospital, while the third received treatment at the scene. A short time later, officers responding to a vehicle collision on Folsom Boulevard and State University Drive found a man who had also been shot; he was taken to a medical facility with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
The crash occurred close to Sacramento State University, where earlier reports of gunfire near a parking structure had prompted a shelter-in-place order during Saturday night’s football game. Authorities have not established a connection between the shootings and the earlier gunfire, and no suspect details have been released.
