Mumbai Navy family found dead, authorities probe possible suicide and child poisoning

A sailor, his wife and two young children were discovered dead in their Navy Nagar home in Mumbai, with police suspecting the sailor killed himself and the children may have been poisoned.

In Mumbai's Navy Nagar district, authorities found the deceased bodies of an Indian Navy sailor, his wife and their two children, who were two months and three years old. Preliminary evidence suggests the sailor died by hanging, and investigators suspect poisoning may have caused the children's deaths. The police have secured the scene, sent the remains for autopsy and are collecting forensic material.

Interviews are being conducted with family members, neighbours and other relevant witnesses to determine the sequence of events. The Indian Navy confirmed the incident occurred on 15 Aug 26 and is cooperating fully with the police investigation. Final conclusions will depend on the forthcoming medical-legal reports.
