Munich Court Sets Minimum 24-Year Prison Term for NSU Terrorist Beate Zschäpe
The Higher Regional Court in Munich ordered that Beate Zschäpe must serve at least 24 years in prison, keeping her incarcerated until at least 2035.
Beate Zschäpe, a member of the far-right NSU terrorist group, received a mandatory minimum sentence of 24 years from the Oberlandesgericht Munich. The court also rejected a request to suspend the remainder of her 2018 conviction on parole. The ruling is not yet final. Zschäpe’s two accomplices, Uwe Böhnhardt and Uwe Mundlos, died before they could be arrested.
Why it matters
