Munich Selected as Germany's Olympic Bid Candidate

The German Olympic Committee announced that Munich will represent Germany in the upcoming Summer Olympic bidding process, prompting celebrations in the city’s Old Town Hall with chants of “Munich, Munich” and traditional Bavarian symbols. City officials highlighted the next phase, focusing on mobility plans, the Olympic Village and the overall bid concept. The proposal includes reusing the Olympic Park built for the 1972 Games and has received strong backing from local residents. Munich will now compete with more than ten other interested parties from countries such as Indonesia, India, South Africa, Chile, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
