Murat Gassiev Shows Interest in Potential WBA Title Fight with Jarrell Miller

Jarrell Miller is eyeing a WBA heavyweight title fight against current champion Murat Gassiev, who said he is open to the bout. Although the WBA stated Miller is not a mandatory challenger, his recent points victory over Lenier Pero keeps him in contention. Gassiev noted that if Moses Itauma chooses the IBF path, Miller would become the official challenger for his title.

The Russian champion also expressed interest in unification matches with Agit Kabayel and other belt holders. Gassiev recently defended his WBA crown with a sixth-round stoppage of Peter Kadiru in Moscow. Miller, whose previous title fight with Anthony Joshua was canceled after a 2019 doping violation, hopes the fight will finally materialize.
