Murder probe launched after dog bite kills man in Wakefield

Around early afternoon on Saturday, a 55-year-old man was bitten by a dog while walking on a footpath near Calder Grove, Wakefield, and was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Officers arrested a 55-year-old male suspect, charging him with murder and for owning a dog that was out of control in a public area; the animal has been taken into custody.
