Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay sidelined after successful heart ablation
Napoli confirmed that Scott McTominay underwent a successful heart-arrhythmia ablation and will miss upcoming matches, including the Champions League tie with Arsenal.
Napoli announced that midfielder Scott McTominay successfully underwent an ablation procedure at Spire Manchester Hospital to correct a mild, benign heart arrhythmia identified the previous week. The club described the surgery as “perfectly successful” and indicated that McTominay will observe a roughly two-week rest period before resuming training. The 29-year-old Scotland international, formerly of Manchester United, was absent from Napoli’s 3-2 Serie A defeat to Inter Milan on Saturday.
He will miss the Champions League opening match against Arsenal and upcoming Serie A fixtures against Bologna and Fiorentina. Napoli expects him to rejoin full training during the forthcoming international break.
