NASA adds Relativity Space’s Terran R rocket to its launch services roster

NASA’s Launch Services (NLS) II contract has been granted to Relativity Space Inc., authorizing the use of its Terran R launch service for forthcoming missions. This award falls under a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that allows ordering until June 2030 and remains active through December 2032. The NLS II framework includes an on-ramp clause, giving new launch providers a yearly chance to bid and enabling current contractors to add vehicles not yet on the contract.

The agreement supports the objectives of NASA’s Human Spaceflight, Science, and Research & Technology Mission Directorates. It also permits NASA to extend launch services to other government bodies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Management of the contract is handled by the Launch Services Program Office at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
