NASA Moves Artemis II Veterans Victor Glover and Reid Wiseman to Emeritus Roles

NASA confirmed that Victor Glover and Reid Wiseman, who commanded the Artemis II mission earlier this year, will transition to emeritus positions at the Johnson Space Center in September. The emeritus program allows seasoned experts to continue supporting the agency by mentoring astronauts, flight controllers and engineers, while also giving them flexibility for external pursuits. Administrator Jared Isaacman highlighted their leadership, character and the pivotal role they played in returning America to lunar orbit.

Glover plans to focus on aerospace, leadership and public service initiatives, whereas Wiseman will share his spaceflight experience ahead of Artemis III’s low-Earth-orbit tests. Colleagues, including Vanessa Wyche and Scott Tingle, lauded their lasting impact on NASA’s culture and future human-spaceflight goals.
