NASA Moves Roman Space Telescope to SpaceX Hangar Ahead of Falcon Heavy Launch
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope was transferred to the SpaceX facility at Launch Complex 39A, preparing for integration with a Falcon Heavy rocket.
On August 25, the telescope was hauled from NASA’s Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility to the SpaceX hangar at Kennedy’s Launch Complex 39A. Engineers will soon mate the observatory with a Falcon Heavy launch vehicle. The mission aims to probe dark energy and chart galaxy formation by tracing dark matter. A launch is slated for no earlier than August 30.
