National Election Committee appoints Szekeres Pál to fill Lázár János' parliamentary seat

The Nemzeti Választási Bizottság (NVB) assigned Szekeres Pál the vacant mandate of former MP Lázár János.

Lázár János, elected on the joint Fidesz-KDNP list, resigned his seat, triggering the replacement procedure. Under the rules, the next eligible candidate on the list is offered the mandate. The party organisations that compiled the joint list named Szekeres Pál, who held the 266th position, as the successor. The NVB's decision can be appealed to the Kúria within three days.
