National Organized Crime Police Conduct Early-Morning Operation at Nymburk City Hall

Police from the National Central Office against Organized Crime began a raid this morning inside the Nymburk municipal office, including the mayor's office.

Early this morning, officers from the Národní centrála proti organizovanému zločinu (NCOZ) launched an operation inside the Nymburk municipal building, targeting the office of mayor Tomáš Mach. The NCOZ spokesperson announced that the unit is conducting criminal procedural measures, while withholding specifics that are the prerogative of the Vrchní státní zastupitelství v Praze. The city hall’s spokesperson, Marta Svobodová, stated that employees are still on site and continuing their duties, but she is prohibited from providing additional information.

No further details about the nature of the investigation were released. The raid follows the mayor’s tenure since November 2018, during which his party Nymburk s klidem retained a majority after the 2022 local elections.

Why it matters
