NationGate rockets up Fortune SEA 500 ranking amid AI-driven data center boom

Malaysia's NationGate posted a 720% revenue jump, landing it at No. 243 on the Fortune Southeast Asia 500, thanks to soaring AI and data-center demand.

NationGate, an EMS provider based in Malaysia, surged to No. 243 on the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 after its revenue leapt 720% to 5.27 billion ringgit, with profit rising 163% to $35 million. The bulk of the growth came from its data-computing arm, which now accounts for 88% of sales after expanding AI server assembly as the only Nvidia OEM partner in Southeast Asia. The company benefits from a wave of data-center investments attracted by generative AI, with multibillion-dollar deals from Google, Oracle and Microsoft flowing into the region.

Nevertheless, investigations into possible breaches of U.S. chip export rules involving Singapore and Malaysia have sparked investor wariness, leaving NationGate’s stock down roughly 40% this year. The firm has denied any involvement in the probes. Its outlook hinges on continued double-digit growth in data-center spending across Southeast Asia and globally.
