Nationwide warrants issued for Edmonton dad accused of abducting his children
Police have issued Canada-wide warrants for 42-year-old Scot Macdermid on two counts of abducting his six-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter.
Edmonton police have released nationwide warrants for Scot Macdermid, 42, charging him with two counts of child abduction in breach of a custody order. The charges relate to the alleged taking of his six-year-old son, George, and nine-year-old daughter, Lesley. Macdermid was last observed at the Manning Town Centre shopping plaza on Aug. 28 and was subsequently sighted in Lloydminster, Alberta, though his route after that point is unclear.
Investigators have determined that the situation does not satisfy the requirements for an Amber Alert, but they continue to seek public assistance. Staff Sgt. Robert Davis of the EPS Child Protection Section emphasized that finding the children safely is the highest priority. The police urge anyone with information to come forward.
