NBCC unveils Rs 9,620 crore scheme to finish 16 stalled Supertech housing projects
NBCC announced a Rs 9,620 crore plan to complete 16 unfinished Supertech residential projects in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Karnataka after the Supreme Court affirmed its role.
NBCC has launched a Rs 9,620 crore initiative to finish 16 Supertech housing projects that have been stalled for years across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. The firm was named project-management consultant by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal in December 2024, yet no construction resumed until the Supreme Court, in February 2026, confirmed NBCC’s authority. With that legal backing, NBCC will begin tendering to restart work on roughly 50,000 units, seeking to unlock idle assets and rebuild confidence among homebuyers.
The agency will continue audits and due-diligence, highlighting issues such as Czar Suites, where 1,908 units have been built against an approval for only 844, and Upcountry towers that exceed the 30-metre height limit approved by RERA. These irregularities underscore the challenges NBCC must resolve before construction can fully recommence. The effort positions NBCC as a public-sector partner for distressed real-estate projects, aiming to deliver homes that have remained incomplete for several years.
Why it matters
Reviving the stalled projects could deliver tens of thousands of homes and restore confidence in India's real-estate market.
