NBI asks 18 alleged cash-carrying suspects to take polygraph tests
The National Bureau of Investigation said the 18 individuals who named officials in a cash-delivery claim will also undergo lie detector examinations.
During a March hearing, the NBI announced that the 18 so-called “maleta boys,” who implicated several government figures including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., must submit to polygraph testing. The move follows the bureau’s request for former police officer Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. to take a similar test. Gracioso alleges he transported suitcases filled with cash to a vice official. The polygraph requirement is part of the probe into their joint affidavit.
Why it matters
The tests could confirm or refute allegations of a cash-bribery scheme involving senior Philippine officials.
