NCB seizes 5.2 kg heroin in Jammu and arrests three linked to Pakistan network
The Narcotics Control Bureau confiscated 5.2 kilograms of heroin in Jammu and detained three suspects, including the alleged mastermind, after tracing the shipment to the Uri border.
A tip received on Aug 22 prompted the Narcotics Control Bureau to intercept a vehicle in Jammu’s Panjtirthi locality, resulting in the arrest of two individuals from Baramulla district who were found with heroin. Subsequent inquiries identified a third Baramulla resident as the suspected mastermind, who was apprehended in Leh on Aug 24. The seized 5.2 kg of heroin is believed to have been smuggled from Pakistan through the Uri border sector.
This operation comes after two separate heroin confiscations on Aug 12 and Aug 13. NCB officials stated that the ongoing probe will uncover cross-border suppliers, financial links, transporters, local collaborators, and the intended distribution network. The agency also called on the public to support efforts toward a drug-free India.

It highlights a major cross-border drug trafficking ring and the authorities' effort to curb heroin flow into India.
