NDRF says Nepal flash floods pose no threat to Indian territory
The National Disaster Response Force reports that recent glacial lake outburst floods in Nepal have not caused any adverse effects on the Indian side.
Authorities from the National Disaster Response Force have confirmed that the flash floods originating from Nepal's glacial lakes have not impacted Indian districts. While the central government and state officials continue to monitor bordering areas in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, no damage has been recorded across the border. The force has positioned twenty teams—eleven in Uttar Pradesh and nine in Bihar—to be ready for evacuation, relief, and rescue if flooding occurs. One of these units is stationed near Gorakhpur in the Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
