Nebraska basketball schedules September visit from four-star forward Dawson Battie
Nebraska's men's basketball team will host four-star power forward Dawson Battie from September 18-20, moving up his originally planned October trip.
Nebraska's men's basketball program announced that four-star power forward Dawson Battie will be on campus from September 18 to 20, accelerating a visit that had been slated for October. Battie, a member of the 2027 recruiting class, is listed as the 22nd overall prospect and the sixth at his position by Rivals Industry, and he is the third Texas-born player in his class. The six-foot-eight, 215-pound forward has already visited Stanford in June and has made two prior trips to Nebraska, one in August and another in February for a game against Illinois.
Robin Washut reported the schedule change. Nebraska currently holds a single commitment for the 2027 class, senior forward Ty Schlagel, and hopes Battie's presence will bolster its recruiting efforts. The program views Battie's early visit as a positive sign for future roster building.
Why it matters
The visit could strengthen Nebraska's recruiting class and improve the team's future competitiveness.
