Nebraska Senate hopeful Dan Osborn admits he hides true views to stay viable

In a secretly recorded conversation shared by Townhall, independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn admitted he cannot publicly champion core Democratic policies, such as ending ICE, because recordings could jeopardize his bid against Republican incumbent Pete Ricketts. Osborn highlighted Nebraska’s roughly equal partisan balance and argued that securing 10 to 15 percent of the GOP vote is essential for victory. He recounted telling Democratic Party chair Jane Kleeb that he may say things that upset her but that the ultimate goal is defeating Ricketts.

Kleeb later said the audio demonstrates Osborn’s accountability to voters rather than to the party chair. The leak adds to a series of controversies surrounding Osborn’s campaign, including past remarks on AR-15 owners and allegations about his daughter’s online activities. His campaign team did not respond to requests for comment.
