Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar suspends state secretary and legal adviser amid council dispute

Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim confirmed that Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim, the state secretary, and Datuk Muzalmah Mustapha Kamal, the state legal adviser, have been suspended with immediate effect after a unanimous decision by the state executive council. Interim duties will be covered by Datuk Masri Razali as acting state secretary and lawyer Fahmi Adilah as acting legal adviser until permanent appointments are made by the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Attorney General's Chambers, respectively.

Notices of the suspensions will be sent to the relevant authorities. Ismail emphasized that the rest of the executive council remains in office and that the state administration will continue to function normally. This action comes amid a dispute sparked by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir's revocation of the council members' appointments, which the Menteri Besar argues lacks legal force without his advice.
