Nepal's Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle to meet Indian leaders in New Delhi
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle will travel to New Delhi on September 17-18 for talks on economic cooperation and flood recovery with his Indian counterpart.
Swarnim Wagle, Nepal's finance minister, is set to arrive in New Delhi on September 17 for a two-day high-level visit, the first since the catastrophic floods of August 26 that killed 1,388 people and caused roughly $4.75 billion in damage. Invited by Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Wagle will focus on strengthening Nepal-India economic ties and securing support for post-disaster reconstruction. His agenda includes meetings with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. In addition to diplomatic talks, Wagle will address a Confederation of Indian Industry gathering and present a lecture at the Delhi School of Economics, highlighting Nepal's broader recovery strategy.
