Netanyahu claims Iran's regime is on the verge of collapse amid Syrian operations
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran's government is close to collapsing and highlighted ongoing Israeli deployments in southern Syria.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, told soldiers in southern Syria that the Iranian government is on the brink of collapse, describing the effort to topple Tehran as nearing completion. He stressed that Israel remains determined to prevent any terrorist army from gaining a position along its frontier. The comments followed Israel’s further incursion into Syrian territory that was previously a UN-monitored buffer after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024.
Israeli forces now occupy areas beyond the Golan Heights, which Israel has held since 1967. Netanyahu noted that the six-month campaign against Iran is progressing and that the final phase will see the Iranian regime crumble. He also referenced the hundreds of strikes Israel has carried out inside Syria since the Assad collapse, underscoring the broader regional conflict.
