Netanyahu's bloc gains seats as Eisenkot's support slips in new poll
A recent Kan poll shows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition rising by two seats to 53, while former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot's bloc falls to 50 seats.
Kan's latest Sunday poll reveals that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition has grown to 53 seats, up two from the previous week, partly thanks to Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael clearing the electoral threshold and securing four seats. Former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot's bloc shrank to 50 seats, losing two seats overall; his Yashar party now holds 22 seats, down one, while Likud fell to 20 seats. The Arab parties stayed at 13 seats, and other groups such as Together, Yisrael Beiteinu, Otzma Yehudit and United Torah Judaism experienced small shifts.
Blue and White and the Haredi Public party remain below the threshold with 0.9 percent each. In a separate question, Eisenkot leads Netanyahu 43% to 38% in perceived suitability for prime minister, while 30% of respondents are still undecided. The poll surveyed 552 adults, with a margin of error of 4.2 percentage points.
Why it matters
The shifting seat projections could affect coalition negotiations and the balance of power in Israel's upcoming elections.
