Netflix explores adding rival streaming services inside its app

Netflix executives have discussed the possibility of featuring third-party platforms such as Peacock and Fox One within the Netflix app, though no concrete deal is in place.

Internal discussions at Netflix have reportedly focused on bringing external streaming options, notably Peacock and Fox One, into the company's app interface. The nature of any potential agreement—whether it would involve selling the other services' subscriptions or merely displaying their programming—remains undefined. This would mark a shift for Netflix, which has historically only engaged in occasional bundling deals, unlike Amazon Prime Video and Roku that already market rival subscriptions.

The streaming giant has already experimented with third-party content in France, where it added live channels and programming from TF1 to its platform in June, a move described by co-CEO Greg Peters as showing "promising" outcomes. Despite the interest, the report indicates no imminent partnership is slated. YouTube, another major competitor, plans to include Peacock in its Premium offering next year.

Why it matters

If Netflix adds rival services, it could reshape how users access multiple streaming platforms from a single app.
