Netflix Korea announces star-studded drama "Tantara" with acclaimed cast

Netflix Korea has officially announced the production of "Tantara," a period drama set against the backdrop of the Korean showbiz industry from the 1960s through the 1980s. The story follows childhood friends Min-ja and Dong-gu as they strive to break into the music world despite humble beginnings. Leading the cast are Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo, with additional roles filled by Lee Ha-nee, Seolhyun of AOA, and Cha Seung-won.

The series is written by celebrated screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung and directed by Lee Yoon-j​ung, whose previous works include "Coffee Prince" and "Cheese in the Trap." To promote the series, Netflix unveiled a poster depicting the main characters on a turntable, representing their evolving paths in the industry.
