Netflix raises subscription fees in Austria and Germany across all plans
Netflix announced price hikes for its basic, standard and premium tiers in Austria and Germany, with the ad-supported plan also becoming more expensive in both markets.
Netflix is implementing its first price increase in more than two years for Austrian and German customers. The Austrian basic subscription will cost €10.99 instead of €8.99, the standard plan €15.99 rather than €13.99, and the premium package €21.99, up from €19.99. In Germany, the ad-supported tier will be €6.99, up from €4.99, while the standard and premium plans each rise from €4.99 to €5.99.
The adjustments come after Netflix began charging additional fees to account-sharing users who do not live in the same household. The company says the hikes reflect ongoing enhancements to the service, and subscriber acceptance has allowed its business to keep growing.
