Netflix will stream a three-part documentary called “The One About Matthew Perry” on Oct. 27, marking the third anniversary of the late actor’s passing. A two-minute trailer shows that the series blends private photos, home videos and testimonies from Perry’s sister Mia Perry Bowick, close friends David Pressman and Roger Castillo, as well as former girlfriends. Industry insiders such as former one outlet President Warren Littlefield and Season 1 writer Jeff Strauss discuss Perry’s audition for “Friends” and the creation of Chandler Bing.
The film also delves into his long-standing drug addiction and attempts at sobriety, drawing on accounts from those nearest to him. Mary Robertson directs, while Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman and co-executive producer Lora Moftah oversee production for Maxine Productions, a Sony Pictures Television company.
