Netflix unveils trailer for Peter Berg's WWII football drama "The Mosquito Bowl"
Netflix released the first trailer for "The Mosquito Bowl," a World War II film directed by Peter Berg that follows college football stars who become Marines and play a historic game on Okinawa.
Netflix has launched the trailer for its upcoming film "The Mosquito Bowl," directed by Peter Berg, known for "Friday Night Lights" and "Lone Survivor." Set after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the narrative follows four elite college football players who trade their one outlet fame for Marine service and prepare for the fierce Okinawa campaign, where they participate in a famed game that may be their last. The ensemble features Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Brent Comer and former NFL player Pat McAfee.
The screenplay is based on Buzz Bissinger's novel of the same name and references the real-life Tony Butkovich, a first-round NFL draft pick who chose the Marines and was killed in the Pacific. The movie will debut in cinemas on Oct. 30 and become available for streaming on Netflix on Nov. 25.
