New Asia Forum launches in Bali aiming to secure $30 billion for Asian projects

The inaugural New Asia Forum will convene in Bali on Dec. 3-4, targeting $30 billion of long-term investment across eight strategic sectors in the region.

A new global platform called the New Asia Forum is set to open in Bali, Indonesia, on Dec. 3-4, with the explicit goal of mobilising $30 billion of long-term capital for Asian development. Powered by Danantara Indonesia, the country’s sovereign fund, and produced by Richard Attias & Associates, the two-day gathering will bring together heads of state, ministers, sovereign investors and CEOs. Attendees will explore a curated pipeline of projects across eight sectors, including strategic resources, energy, advanced manufacturing, AI-driven digital infrastructure, agribusiness, trade, tourism and education.

Rosan Roeslani, chief executive of Danantara Indonesia, said the forum will link global capital with opportunities throughout Indonesia and the broader region, while President Prabowo Subianto’s patronage signals Indonesia’s confidence. Richard Attias emphasized that Asia is shifting from a capital destination to a capital creator. The event will monitor commitments and outcomes across its editions, creating an ongoing accountability mechanism.

Why it matters

The forum could channel massive funding into key Asian industries, shaping the region’s economic growth trajectory.
