Taco Bell veteran Taylor Montgomery will assume the newly created president role at Jack in the Box on Sept. 14, tasked with turning around the chain’s performance.
Effective Sept. 14, Taylor Montgomery will become president of Jack in the Box, a role designed to eventually make him CEO as interim CEO and executive chairman Mark King steps aside. Montgomery brings more than ten years of experience from Taco Bell, where he shaped a distinctive brand identity, as well as senior marketing stints at Yum Brands and Procter & Gamble. His immediate tasks include giving the brand a clear reason for customers to choose it, enhancing the financial outlook for franchisees, and modernizing restaurant speed, quality, and digital capabilities.
He must also determine the optimal locations and economics for new outlets, especially after the recent sale of Del Taco Holdings. Finally, restoring confidence among franchise partners and shareholders will be essential to achieving stronger sales and profitability.
Why it matters
Jack in the Box’s turnaround will affect thousands of franchisees, employees, and consumers across the U.S., Mexico, and Guam.
