New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell Resigns After Harassment and Ethics Probe

Dale Caldwell announced his resignation as lieutenant governor of New Jersey after an independent investigation substantiated a sexual‑harassment claim and identified ethics violations. The probe found that Caldwell told a staffer, “you young women are looking for young sperm,” and that he brought personal guests to ticketed events without clearance and sought to secure a promotion for a romantic partner without disclosing the relationship.

Governor Mikie Sherrill had earlier urged Caldwell to step down, saying his departure would avoid an impeachment process. Caldwell, represented by Thomas Calcagni, denied the allegations. The governor will now select a successor.
