New Jersey woman faces federal murder-for-hire charges after Tinder plot
Jaclyn Diiorio of Runnemede will plead not guilty to two federal counts of using interstate communications to arrange a murder-for-hire scheme targeting her ex-police officer boyfriend and his daughter.
A federal indictment unsealed on September 3 accuses Jaclyn Diiorio, a 28-year-old hairdresser from Runnemede, of using a cell phone to facilitate an interstate murder-for-hire scheme against her former boyfriend, Philadelphia police officer Matthew O’Hanlon, and his teenage daughter. The suspect allegedly contacted a man on Tinder, exchanged messages and calls, and met him in a Gloucester Township Dollar General parking lot, where she provided $500 toward a $12,000 fee before being apprehended.
The man was later identified as an informant working with Camden County detectives, who had previously warned authorities about Diiorio’s request. After Camden County prosecutors dismissed their case, federal prosecutors took over, charging her with two counts of using interstate commerce facilities to commission murder. Diiorio’s lawyer, Robert Gamburg, says she will plead not guilty at a detention hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Scott W. Reid. Conviction could carry up to 20 years in prison.
