New law opens applications for chief director roles at vocational training centres
Applications for chief director positions at vocational training centres are now open following a legal amendment that allows fixed-term contracts up to five years.
The government has enacted changes to the vocational training legislation, enabling the recruitment of chief directors for vocational training centres on fixed-term contracts of up to five years. This reform eliminates the existing dual-leadership structure, centralising all managerial, professional, operational and budgeting duties with the chief director. Applications are now being accepted via the public service portal.
The minister explained that the new chief directors will be tasked with modernising vocational education, aligning programmes with regional labour-market needs, and strengthening both domestic and international professional partnerships. The goal is to create centres capable of responding swiftly to shifts in the local economy and delivering high-quality, market-oriented training to all learners.
