New plan aims to run 40 metro trains per hour through Oslo centre
Oslo is proposing a 40-billion-kroner upgrade to allow 40 trains per hour on the central tunnel, reducing transfers at Majorstuen.
The proposal includes a new signal system, additional rolling stock, and a full renovation of Majorstuen station. By raising the frequency from 28 to 40 trains each direction, capacity on the Grorud, Kolsås and Lambertseter lines would improve. The Fornebubanen project and other infrastructure works are part of the plan.
