New Polish party Kanał Zero emerges as opposition's primary challenger

In a broadcast interview, Sienkiewicz declared the creation of a new political party named Kanał Zero, calling it the true vehicle that consolidates the opposition camp. He noted that the opposition now confronts Kanał Zero rather than parties linked to Stanowski, Nawrocki, Kaczyński or Morawiecki. He contrasted this development with the tactics of early 2023, when opponents hoped to quietly pass measures before the presidential election, a plan he says failed.

He blamed a former culture minister for shifting focus to the presidential race and argued that constitutional court disputes feel remote to residents of smaller towns. Sienkiewicz believes certain reforms could be more readily implemented after the presidential election and rejected the notion that the EU would object to such moves, warning against overconfidence in a friendly president's support.
