Siena University’s latest poll of likely New York voters indicates that only 30% have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Socialists of America, while 47% view the group unfavorably and 23% are unsure. The organization’s support falls dramatically beyond the city limits, with just 16% of respondents in Nassau and Westchester counties and 27% in upstate areas expressing approval. Jewish respondents exhibit the strongest opposition, with 71% holding an unfavorable view, surpassed only by Republicans and conservative-leaning voters.
Favorability is higher among younger demographics and those with lower incomes. Within the Democratic Party, half of respondents are favorable toward the DSA, 21% are opposed, and 29% have no opinion, while a slim majority of independents (57%) are against it.
