New Sighetu Marmației II Border Crossing and 270-metre Bridge Open Between Romania and Ukraine

The joint ceremony of the Maramureș County Council and the Sighetu Marmației Local Council marked the opening of the Sighetu Marmației II crossing and a new Tisa bridge. The bridge spans roughly 270 metres and is part of a larger project that adds 1.2 km of road, parallel bridges, administrative buildings and four modern control halls. Initially, the crossing accommodates vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, with plans to later admit freight traffic and pedestrians.
