New Vande Bharat Sleeper to slash Bengaluru-Mumbai travel to under 16 hours
A Vande Bharat Sleeper service will connect Bengaluru and Mumbai in less than 16 hours, running six days a week with overnight departures.
Indian Railways plans to launch a Vande Bharat Sleeper that will reduce the Bengaluru-Mumbai rail trip to under 16 hours, a significant improvement over the 24-hour Udyan Express. The train will leave SMVT Bengaluru at 10 pm and reach Mumbai CSMT at 1:50 pm the following day, with the reverse service departing Mumbai at 10:30 pm and arriving in Bengaluru at 2:50 pm. Operating six days a week, the service will not run from Bengaluru on Mondays nor from Mumbai on Tuesdays.
Likely stops are Anantapur, Guntakal, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Solapur and Kalyan, while Hubballi will be skipped. The launch responds to three decades of calls for a faster overnight connection and coincides with the extension of the Yesvantpur-Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, enhancing links to coastal Karnataka and Goa.
