New York man kills parents after they posted $10,000 bail, then commits suicide
Justin Sislo, 35, shot his mother and father dead in their Madison home and then took his own life, authorities said.
Police were called to a Madison home where they found the bodies of 72-year-old Donna Walker-Sislo and 76-year-old Steve Sislo after their son, 35-year-old Justin Sislo, opened fire and then turned the gun on himself. The parents had paid $10,000 to secure their son’s release from jail less than a month earlier after he was arrested for attacking his girlfriend. Prior to the shooting, Sislo was charged with several counts of second-degree strangulation and multiple firearm violations, and a court had barred him from owning a gun.
Officers detected an odor of propane or gasoline inside the house and located a firearm despite the restriction. His next court appearance had been scheduled for August 21, and records show a prior domestic incident with his father earlier in 2024 that did not result in charges.
