Club Getaway, located on 300 acres beside Leonard Pond in Kent, Connecticut, celebrates half a century of adult-focused weekends. Each over-21 package provides rustic-chic lodging, dinner wine, and a menu of activities ranging from mixology classes to zip-lining, though the emphasis is on fostering a ready-made social circle. Approximately 200 to 250 guests, averaging 36 years old, arrive by shuttle from the Harlem Valley-Wingdale station after a Metro-North ride from Grand Central.

Owner David Schreiber, who inherited the concept from founder Victor Fink, notes that participants often leave with new friendships or even romantic connections. Campers such as Carly Ziff, Sandra Florent and Amanda Morrison praised the themed parties, water sports and the chance to relive childhood camp experiences in a grown-up setting. Long-time staff like Lou Schioppo and alumni Fred Cordero highlighted personal stories of meeting spouses and renewing vows at the venue.
