New Yorkers Win Dog-Human Lookalike Contest at Brooklyn Brewery Event
Rosa McGee and her French bulldog Lisa captured first place at Dogfish Head's dog-human lookalike competition held in Industry City, Brooklyn.
Dogfish Head staged a playful dog-human lookalike contest on International Dog Day inside Industry City's courtyard in Brooklyn, drawing over 400 attendees and 35 competing duos. Upper East Side resident Rosa McGee entered with her five-year-old French bulldog Lisa after purchasing a matching yellow dress and denim vest for the pup and finding a human-sized version for herself on the day of the event. The pair won the top prize, which includes a stay at the brewery's hotel in Lewes, Delaware, a $1,000 travel stipend, a $250 gift card and trophies for both owner and dog.
The judging panel featured Antwon Andre Patton (Big Boi), Instagram “pup-fluencer” Jackie Hornung and Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione. Participants such as plumber Sean Bracy and flute player-dog walker Christine Perea highlighted personal resemblances to their pets, while a raffle supported the nonprofit Badass Animal Rescue with prizes from Priority Bicycles and Xtracycles. Second and third places went to Alanna Duncan with her shepherd mix Willow and Suki Kwon with her Pomoranian Kumo, respectively.
