New Zealand firm Valocity lands major deal with India's Axis Bank after FTA
Valocity, a New Zealand property-valuation platform, secured a partnership with Axis Bank, India’s third-largest private bank, following the recent India-NZ free-trade agreement.
Following the launch of the India-New Zealand free-trade agreement, New Zealand-based Valocity has deepened its foothold in India by finalising a contract with Axis Bank, the country’s third-largest private sector bank. The agreement covers the full deployment of Valocity’s risk-management platform across the bank’s operations. Founder Carmen Vicelich described the partnership as “phenomenal,” emphasizing that the speed and scale of the deal far exceed what New Zealand banks typically achieve.
She cited the State Bank of India’s customer count, which surpasses the population of the United States, to illustrate the market’s magnitude. This move signals that New Zealand companies are beginning to tap the vast Indian financial sector, potentially reshaping cross-border business dynamics under the new FTA.
Why it matters
It shows how the India-NZ free-trade pact is enabling rapid expansion of New Zealand tech firms into one of the world’s largest banking markets.
