New Zealand's GDP edges up 0.2% in June quarter
New Zealand's economy expanded by 0.2% in the June 2026 quarter, with annual growth at 1.7%, according to Stats NZ.
Stats NZ reported that GDP rose 0.2% in the June quarter, revising the March quarter up to 0.9% growth. Over the year to June, output increased 1.7%. Growth was driven by nine of 16 industries, led by a 2.7% jump in construction, especially residential building.
