Nézőpont Institute shifts focus from party preference polls to deeper analysis after self-review
The Nézőpont Institute announced it will stop publishing primary party-preference data and instead issue research-driven analyses following an internal methodological review.
To commemorate two decades of operation, the Nézőpont Institute disclosed the results of a methodological self-assessment conducted after the 2026 parliamentary election. The review concluded that the institute will no longer prioritize publishing party-preference numbers, opting for more comprehensive, research-based reports with greater methodological transparency. It pledged to make all data collection details publicly available and to resume regular publications after April.
Additionally, the institute will launch “Hungary 2040” policy workshops to examine future technological, economic and political trends, and will fund scholarships for scholars, analysts and media outlets to support democratic balance. Founder Mráz Ágoston Sámuel explained that the new approach will use the full adult population as the sample base without participation estimates. The institute also apologized for earlier mis-estimations of party support, particularly under-rating the Tisza Party’s surge.
