NFL running back Josh Jacobs accepts plea deal in battery case

Josh Jacobs appeared in a Brown County, Wisconsin courtroom and entered a no-contest plea to two misdemeanor charges: battery and criminal damage to property. The court imposed a $1,000 fine, costs, restitution, mandatory counseling, and a restraining order barring contact with the alleged victim. The charges relate to a May 23 altercation at his Wisconsin residence, during which the woman accused him of talking to other girls and was allegedly thrown to the ground, sustaining an injury captured on surveillance video.

Jacobs was initially arrested on May 26, but prosecutors delayed filing charges pending additional evidence. He was placed on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list on August 30, preventing him from playing for the Packers, and it remains unclear how the plea will affect that status. Jacobs joined Green Bay in 2024 after five seasons with the Raiders.
